![]() WEB provides the structure for sixth graders to receive support and guidance from eighth graders who have been through the challenges that middle school poses and understand that the transition to a larger school can sometimes be overwhelming. ![]() More and more studies show that if students have a positive experience their first year in middle school, their chances for success increase dramatically. As positive role models, WEB leaders are mentors and student leaders who guide the sixth graders to discover what it takes to be successful during the transition to middle school and help facilitate sixth grade success. Built on the belief that students can help students succeed, the program trains mentors from your 8th grade class to be WEB leaders. Uroog Quraishi, Assistant Principal Ms.WEB, which stands for “Where Everybody Belongs” is a middle school orientation and transition program that welcomes 6th/7th graders and makes them feel comfortable throughout the first year of their middle school experience. ![]() We are going to have a beautiful year of learning! Thank you for your commitment to your child's education and safety, and for supporting Prairie Sky School. Additionally, please check the school website for important updates. We will start sending out our Prairie Sky Post through the School Messenger monthly. Additionally, we will continue to use School Messenger to communicate school-wide information. Teachers will email through school messenger a message, pictures and other important information at the beginning or end of each week to provide families with an update of the learning in the classroom. ![]() To support communication between home and school, our teachers use Google Classroom and D2L. We strongly recommend that a change of clothes is sent for those students in the younger grades. Finally, please understand that we are not able to accommodate parent requests for teachers.Ī reminder that all students should come prepared on the first day of school with a backpack containing their indoor shoes, a water bottle, snack, and lunch. This will most certainly not be our final list. Letters will be emailed to you by Wednesday, August 30th. It is important to keep in mind that our staffing needs are changing daily.
